Shelter Statistics
To put things in perspective, Pinal County Animal Care and Control (PCACC) had a live release of 23.4% in 2010. In 2021, the shelter’s live release rate increased to 97.4%. The shelter accomplished its biggest feat in regards to euthanasia by focusing on lifesaving. In the same year, PCACC started shifting focus on providing quality care and enrichment to the shelter’s furry guests while maintaining a lifesaving status and helping their community of pet owners.
As of 2023, the shelter is experiencing its most difficult year in maintaining enrichment programs, community programs, and their lifesaving status due to the national animal shelter crisis of too many animals going into shelters and not enough getting adopted. Read more on getting involved to see how you can help Pinal County Animal Care & Control remain a lifesaving operation focused on quality care for shelter animals.
