Ernie Feliz is currently the Grants Coordinator for the City of Coolidge. He has served in various grant writing and grant management posts in various communities, including the Town of Florence and Pinal County He has nearly 20 years of experience working with all aspects of various types of grants. He has written and managed grants in various areas such as trailhead construction, substance abuse prevention, housing rehabilitation and after-school education. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services from Prescott College and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Troy University.
Ernie has had a keen interest in open space and trails for many years. He enjoys hiking around Pinal County and the state. He has hiked many nearby locales, including Flat Iron, Lost Dutchman and Roger’s Trough in the Superstitions, Picket Post by Superior Aravaipa Canyon and Picacho Peak. He has set a goal to hike the entire Pinal County section of the Arizona Trail. He served as chairman of the Town of Florence Historic District Advisory Commission for seven years and served on a committee that studied the potential for forming a National Heritage Area along the Gila River.
